Welcome to the Inkscapes Gallery.
The original artworks in this gallery are alcohol ink, a unique medium of highly saturated liquid inks
that are thinned with 90% pure isopropyl alchohol which is quick to evaporate, so the medium may be manuipulated in ways
unavaiable to water-based mediums like watercolor or gouache. Since porous papers would absorb the medium too quickly
the preferred surface is synthetic paper which is non-absorbent allowing for colors to be desaturated, moved, swirled, blown,
blended, and fully manuipulated creating very unique paintings. The colors remain vibrant no matter how much they are thinned,
as they only become more translucent but not pale.
The are a number of synthetic papers used with alcohol ink, but all the art in this gallery are on Yupo and Pixiss.
They come in assorted weights and sizes and because of their lack of absorption they hold up to a great deal of manipulation
and isopropyl alcohol layering.
