Designs Ink is thrilled to announce the availability of Film 4000 in the USA. It is 100% pure film adhesive with no carrier allowing it to melt clear enabling applications that tissues simply are not well suited for. Dry mount film (DMF) adhesives have been used in specialty and creative dry mount applications for decades whenever a clear hot bond was required--including everything from mounting two-sided newsprint onto a dark substrate to canvas transferring--and has been a staple for full service custom picture framers for decades.
A shortage of film products including Fusion 4000 and Drytac Flobond occurred beginning in 2020 because of supply chain issues, which ultimately ended up in film adhesive being discontinued from industry suppliers. It was thought dry mount film adhesive would disappear forever, but after much searching, a small supply has been located and is currently being sold until current supplies are sold out. Film 4000 is now being exclusively sold by Designs Ink in America to framers, artists, photographers, and anyone who has been missing it these past years.
